Chris and Jeff’s Music Trade Off 10/11/2020

Kendrick Lamar - DNA

Chris Started the night with a Pulitzer Prize winning artist, because this song reminds him of family, Missing Hendrix, and at one point he had an Epiphany.

Big Sean - ZTFO

Jeff can't stop listening to Detroit 2, by Big Sean.

Stephen Marley - Traffic Jam Featuring Damian Marley

How can you listen to this, and not hear their dad. Fathers are amazing.

U2 - Beautiful Day

The Marley song and Chris' description, and the fact that he had an incredible, spiritual kind of day...made me play this song. It can be a beautiful day. And, Jeff Voted today!

The Band - The Shape I'm In

Go out Yonder. Seriously, if you have never gone out yonder, do it. You won't regret it.

First Break - Three Days - Jane's Addiction

A Lewis Marnell Tribute, and Ben is simply one of the greatest.

A little longer break, and a couple of kick ass tracks from the Strokes.

Simon and Garfunkel - Homeward Bound

Jeff had to be that guy and play Simon and Garfunkel. Sheesh.

Van Halen - Panama

Jeff got a little nostalgic and sad that Eddie Van Halen died this week. You Can't go wrong with Panama., Eddie was a Rock and Roll God. And a guitar legend.

And if you think Eddie Van Halen is not one of the greatest guitarists, or talents of our time, watch this ! And if you still think Eddie doesn't belong on the top of most top 2 lists, Jeff will fight you.

The Police - So Lonely

This one reminded Chris of the 80's, and a SKA influence doesn't hurt.

The Cars - Let's Go

Might as well keep the 80's going!

The Replacements - Within Your Reach

In Jeff's opinion, one of the best love songs out there.

Ani DiFranco - As Is (Live in New York)

Chris hits with the next love song! You can't go wrong with Ani

Bob Marley - Trenchtown

Bob Marley live. That's all we need. This is Live from the Rainbow. Just makes you move.

Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros - Redemption Song

Without People, you're nothing. The Video is amazing, a great tribute to Joe Strummer. Help us sing these songs of freedom.

Sinead O'Connor - Black Boys on Mopeds

One of those somgs that has stuck with Jeff for years. Thanks Jason and Sally!

Velvet Revolver - Fall to Pieces

Been a long time, and Slash still rocks.

Jeff can not get this song out of his head. The piano, the background noise, it all works. One of his all time favorite QOTSA songs.

The Kills - Black Balloon

The Kills is one of those bands that we can't wait to see live again. Jamie is an amazing artist, and Allison Is a rock and roll queen.

Queens of the Stone Age - In the Fade

QOTSA is a huge touchstone for Chris and Jeff. This is an amazing version of In the Fade acoustic.

Chris Cornell - Seasons

From the amazing Singles soudtrack, this is Chris Cornell at his best in Jeff's opinion. Acoustic, 12 string, and his truly amazing, one of a kind voice. Can't get enough of this one!

David Bowie - Life on Mars

Bowie has to be one of the best vocalists of all time. He is truly a Titan, and we miss the hell out of him!

Seu Jorge - Rock n' Roll Suicide

Life Aquatic is one of our favorite movies, and the entire soundtrack is comprised of this amazing artist, Seu Jorge singing David Bowie, acoustic, in Portuguese.

Kings of Leon - The Face

Another Break, Chris chooses this one! This band is another touchstone, seeing them live at the Fillmore will always be one of Jeff's favorite shows.

Frusciante is on point for this performance, and forces us to remember why he will always be the best of the Chili Peppers guitarists.

John Frusciante - Regret

This is a go to for Jeff, and he loves the tone and feel of the entire song.

Michael Jackson - Wanna be Startin' Somethin'

One of the best albums of all time.

Avett Brothers - No Hard Feelings

Such a beautiful and haunting song. Will any of us be ready?

Dada - Moon

Following No Hard Feelings is tough. Moon has always been a melancholy song to Jeff, and always makes him take pause, and think about those that he loves.
